Influence of Asymmetry of Openings

For composite Cellular beams, it is common for the bottom Tee to be heavier in cross-sectional area than the top Tee, and for the opening to be eccentric with respect to the mid-height of the beam. Asymmetry impacts the distribution of shear between the Tees, and induces additional moments in the web post. These influences are accounted for in the design.
