Options - Show Member Lengths is a toggle command that is used to both display and remove the member lengths from the screen. Issuing the command once places a checkmark beside the menu item, indicating that the command is active. The lengths are then displayed on the screen. Issuing the command a second time removes the lengths from the display as well as the checkmark from the menu.

Either the horizontal projected length or the actual length of sloping beams can be displayed. If the framing is not sloping the horizontal projected length and the actual length of beams will be identical.

For beams with cantilevers, the length of each individual span is indicated.

In Plan Mode, only the beam lengths are shown. In Elevation Mode, beam, column and brace lengths are shown.

This command can be used in conjunction with Options - Show Brace Points and Options - Show Fixity. The other Options - Show commands will automatically remove the length text from the screen.

The Options - Scale Text command can be used to increase or decrease the size of the text.
