The Freeze Design option under the Process menu is used to set the footing to User Defined. This removes all of the optimize settings for the reinforcement and dimensions. The effect of this is that the design is not changed when the column and wall loads are changed or when the soil, surcharge and base plate parameters are changed. This option provides a means of checking if the footing dimensions and reinforcement are still acceptable as the model is changed. This is equivalent to issuing Update Database in one of the View/Update dialogs.

• To Freeze the design on a foundation member select the Single, Fence, or All under the Freeze Design option in the Process menu.
