Error Messages
These error messages related to Cross Section classification may appear during the design process.
ASD or LRFD
"Section is Slender": If a part of the cross section exceeds the slender section limits for flange or web.
CAN/CSA S16
"Class 4": If a section contains a slender element it will be indicated as a class 4 section and no additional design checks will be performed.
Slender Web: If a section subject to shear has a web whose depth to thickness ratio exceeds the limit of 502√(kv/Fy) then no further design checks will be performed.
BS 5950
"Class 4": If a section contains a slender element it will be indicated as a class 4 section and no additional design checks will be performed.
