Criteria - Design Criteria Code Tab

The Code tab is used to define the design code, building code, and optional code checks

SettingDescription
Code This is used to select the Concrete code and building code to be used. The currently implemented concrete codes are: ACI 318-95, ACI 318-99, ACI 318-02, ACI 318-02-05, ACI 318-02-08, BS 8110-97, and CP 65.
Note: The only difference concerning foundation design between ACI 318-95 and ACI 318-99 are the changes to section 11.2.1 which involve the use of f c for light weight concrete for equations in sections 11.5.4.3, 11.5.6.9, 11.12.3.2. The remaining sections are not required for foundation design.
Note: There are a small number of differences between the ACI 318-99 and ACI 318-02 codes. The design differences between the two codes are outlined in the RAM Foundation manual technical section.
Included Code Checks This is used to select any code sections that may be optional or open to various interpretations.
Note: BS 8110-97 and CP 65 have no optional code checks at this time.
SettingDescription
ACI 318-XX Sec 15.4.4.2 This section addresses the distribution of reinforcement in the middle reinforcement strip perpendicular to the long direction of a rectangular footing. If this option is selected the reinforcement is distributed as prescribed by this section. If this option is not selected the reinforcement is distributed equally across the footing.
