Steel Beam Design Summary
For each steel beam, the following information is provided:
- The beam ID number
- The span length
- The maximum positive moment (M, Mu, Mfx, Mx, or MSd, depending on the Code selected)
- The maximum negative moment (M, Mu, Mfx, Mx, or MSd)
- The effective section modulus (Seff for ASD only)
- Nominal Moment Capacity (Mn, Mrx, Mcx, or MRd)
- The nominal yield strength (Fy, py, or fy)
- The beam size
- The required number of studs
An asterisk after the beam size indicates that the beam is over‑stressed. This can occur with user-selected sizes. A "#" after the beam size indicates that the beam is over‑deflected. A "u" after the size indicates that the user has assigned the size and/or studs shown. With this output every beam design in the structure can quickly be reviewed.
