The Update Data Base button allows you to save a new design back to the database.

If a new beam design was selected using the Optimize command, this design will be saved to the database but WILL NOT be marked as a user assigned size.

If the new beam design was selected using the Analyze command, this design will be saved to the database and WILL be marked as a user assigned size. This design will remain in the database until it is cleared with the Layout - Beam - Clear Size command in the RAM Modeler or a new design is generated through the View/Update command in the beam design module (using either Optimize or Analyze) and is saved to the database.
