To add a beam by using a distance offset from one end of an existing beam span and connecting to an existing column:

1. Select the Beam-To-Column (Dist) option.
2. Type the distance from one end of the reference beam span to the location of the new beam in the Dist edit box.
   Note: A value of 0.00 for the distance is permissible.
   
3. Click Add. The dialog box will disappear and RAM Modeler will enter the Add Beam Off-Grid Layout Mode.
4. Click the reference beam span.
5. Select the end of the reference beam span from which Dist is to be measured.
6. Click the reference column. The new beam will be added.
