For members of type "Other" the user specified section properties are used directly in the analysis. Joists and Smart Beam members will be assigned nominal cross sectional properties irrespective of their assigned size. As these two member types are always pinned at their ends in the analysis the assigned section properties will have minimal impact on the final concrete design forces elsewhere in the structure.
