Criteria - Design Criteria Reinforcement Tab
This is the location where you can specify the bar sizes to be used for selection of shear reinforcement and flexure reinforcement.
| Setting | Description |

| Clear Bar Spacing group | Max/Min bar spacing for shear and flexure bars. This is the center to center spacing of the bars. |
| Clear Bar Cover | Top, Bottom & Side bar clear cover. This is the clear cover on the bars from face of slab to outside surface of the reinforcement. |
| Bar Sizes to Consider for Design | Only the reinforcement bar sizes that have check marks next to them will be used in the optimizing reinforcement for Shear and Flexure. Reducing the number of bars that are considered for optimization will increase the speed of the design. |
| Reinforcement Ratio (flexure only) | Max/Min Flexure reinforcement ratio. This is the minimum flexure reinforcement ratio. |
| Bar Type | (BS8110-97 code only) This option is used to define the reinforcement bar type used in construction. This information is used in calculating the Value of Bond Coefficient assuming bars in tension from BS8110-97 Part 1 Table 3.26 |
In all cases if the Code option is selected the program will calculate the appropriate code specified value. If the User option is selected the provided value will be used as long as they are within the code specified limits (when applicable). If the code specified values control, they will be used rather then the user defined values.
