LE pos (effective length for lateral-torsional buckling)
It is used in positive moment regions. This length is related to the length of the compression flange between restraints, see Section 4.3.5 of the Code. If LE=0 the program will adopt LE=L (flexural length between nodes). In I-sections members and one flange laterally restrained, the flag “Restrained flange” should be enabled to adopt Annex G in the out-of-plane stability calculations. In this case LE should consider the distance between intermediate restraints.
LE pos is the unbraced length of the flange on the positive side of local axis 2. The program uses the appropriate distance for each load case or combination depending on what flange is under compression due to bending moment.
