Full Truss Design Example – Round Members. For Joint B, the branch loads differ by more than 20% - therefore this is not a pure K connection. Branch members transmit part of their load to the other branch (as a K connection) and part through the chord to resist the applied point load (as a cross connection). The strength of the connection is determined by linear interaction of the proportion of the branch load involved in each type of load transfer.
