Internally, RAM Concept resolves a pattern loading by determining which slab and beam finite elements are partially or wholly within the related load pattern. The loads on these elements (the element loads) are multiplied by the on-pattern factor. For elements totally outside the pattern, the element loads are multiplied by the off-pattern factor.

Thus, RAM Concept ’s calculation pattern areas approximate the pattern areas that you draw. You should consider this when drawing load patterns and choosing mesh size as it will affect the actual pattern loadings generated.
