About skyline plots

When you select the "With Span Detailing" or "User Provided Reinf" contexts, RAM Concept plots the reinforcement with a "skyline" plot.

In a skyline plot, each calculated value is valid for a portion of the span (as shown by a horizontal line) instead of the values being interpolated between cross sections. While this is primarily just a graphical difference, the actual detailing of the reinforcement into bar callouts is performed using the skyline plot values.

For rule set designs, the effects of the Span Detailing Context (other than the skyline plotting) are as shown in the following table.

For the Design Status layer, the effects of the Span Detailing Context (other than the skyline plotting) are as shown in the second table below.

Plotted values are the maximum of the reinforcement calculated per section and the amount of developed reinforcement calculated from the span-detailed amounts of non-developed reinforcement (see Section 53.1 "Span detailing" of Chapter 53, "Reinforcement Notes") .

These values are used in the final capacity check calculations.
