The 0.85bd/f_y criterion is implemented

b is taken the core width (see "Concrete "Core" Determination"). If the core width is zero (there is no core), then b is taken as the width of the section.

Post-tensioning is ignored.

This provision is applied to beams only.

The provisions of item b (Maximum reinforcement) are not considered.

User defined reinforcement that is at an angle to the cross section will only have the component perpendicular to the cross section considered.
