These analysis simplifications are generally not significant and are normally ignored.

In design, RAM Concept will not perform any special capacity calculations that are appropriate only for deep beams and RAM Concept will not provide any deep beam detailing information. RAM Concept ’s shallow beam calculations will generally be conservative for deep beams.

The engineer will need to ensure that the deep beam is laterally stable. The engineer will also need to provide appropriate detailing for the deep beam.
