Question: What support width is used for round columns?
Answer: RAM Concept calculates the support width for an equivalent (in area) square column.
Question: What is the relevance of the Include Detailed Section Analysis box in Criteria > Design Rules?
Answer: That box instructs RAM Concept to do a cracked section analysis even if one is not required for the code criteria.
The only reason to check the box is if you want to see cracked section stresses even when they are not used for code checking / design.
The only reason not to check the box is that cracked section analyses can be slow. See Decreasing calculation time .
