Wire Label Display Dialog
This dialog lets the user select the wire properties that will be displayed in the drawing and configure how they will appear. The user can combine other elements with the wire tag (wire number) to create a more complex wire ID.
Accessed when the user selects the Edit button from the Wire Label Display field in the Options > Wire Settings > Label Preferences tab.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Profile Name | Displays the name of the currently selected profile. |
Save Profile | Save changes made to the current profile. If desired, you can change the entry in the Profile Name field and save the changed profile under a different name. |
Load Profile | Click to load a previously saved profile |
Available variables | The left side of the dialog lists the variables that are available for inclusion in the properties display. |
Add to Expression | Click to add the selected variable to the expression. It will then appear on the right side of the dialog. |
Reset | Click to reload the format that you had when you first entered the dialog. |
Clear | Click to empty the field of all selected elements. |
Remove | To remove an element from the format, select it, then either press the <Delete> key or right click on the element and select Delete from the menu. |
Example | This field shows the kind of wire properties that the selected variables will produce using example values. |

Use these fields to set the position of the displayed wire properties in relation to the wire: |
Properties | The Properties area of the dialog has two fields Prefix and Suffix that allow you to add characters to the beginning or end of any of the elements in the format. These fields become available when you select one of the elements that has been added to the expression. These can be used to add delimiters between the elements of the format. For example, if you want the format to be Wire Tag/Color you can add the Color element to the format, then highlight the Color element and enter / as a prefix for it. |
