Creating Renditions

Note: Requires ProjectWise Plug-in for WSG CONNECT Edition Update 3.4 R3 (10.00.03.460) or later.

You can create a new rendition (PDF, JPEG, TIFF, or CALS) from any DGN, DWG, Word, Excel, PDF, raster image, or InterPlot Plot Set (IPS) file in the datasource.

Note: Creating renditions assumes that your administrator has already done the required configuration, which includes setting up a special rendition server (Bentley i-model Composition Server for PDF) and configuring various rendition settings in ProjectWise Administrator. These topics are detailed in the ProjectWise Implementation Guide and the ProjectWise Administrator help.
  1. In the document list, select the documents you want to process.

    You can select any combination of documents, document sets, folders, and work areas in the document list.

    You can also select items from the results of a search.

    When a document set, folder, or work area is selected, the documents in those items will be processed.

  2. Select Create rendition from the action menu (...) next to any selected item.
  3. In the Create rendition dialog, select a rendition profile from the Profile list, and click Create.

    Rendition profiles contain all of the necessary processing instructions for creating renditions. When you select a profile, default settings are applied. If a particular setting has multiple options, or if a setting does not have a default, you can change the default setting as needed. You can also turn on Send e-mail notification on completion if you want an email to be sent to you when the renditions have been created.

    When you click Create, all of the selected documents, along with the processing instructions (the selected rendition settings) will be sent to the server for processing.

Profile The rendition profile selected here controls which rendition settings will be used as the processing instructions for creating the renditions.

Each rendition profile contains a set of predefined profile components. Selecting a rendition profile automatically sets which profile components will be used. You can either use the default profile components, or change them as needed if there is more than one of a particular component.

Presentation The selected presentation component specifies which InterPlot Settings file(s) to use (if any) to create renditions. InterPlot Settings files can define such things as the plot area, size/scale, pen table, design script, and so on.
Format The selected format component specifies the file type or types that will be created from the selected source files.
File name The selected file name component specifies how the newly created rendition documents will be named.
Destination The selected destination component specifies where in ProjectWise the newly created rendition document(s) will be stored.
Folder Displays the actual destination folder, as defined by the selected destination component. You can click the Change folder button to change the destination folder, if permissions allow.
Send e-mail notification on completion If on, an email will be sent to you when the documents have been processed (when the renditions have been created).
