Requirements

ProjectWise Administrator Requirements

  • 1 GHz x64 processor or better
  • 512 MB of RAM minimum
  • 500 MB of free hard disk space for installation
  • 64-bit Windows server or client operating system:
    • Windows Server 2019, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows Server 2016, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows Server 2012 R2, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows 10
    • Windows 8.1

ProjectWise Explorer Requirements

  • 1 GHz x64 processor or better
  • 1 GB of RAM minimum, additional RAM recommended for adequate streaming of point cloud and raster references
  • 1.1 GB of free hard disk space for installation, additional space for the working directory (depending on the number and size of files) if the user's working directory will be on this computer
  • 64-bit Windows server or client operating system:
    • Windows Server 2019, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows Server 2016, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows Server 2012 R2, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows 10
    • Windows 8.1

  • There is no desktop integration for Bentley Navigator, however you can use the latest version of Bentley Navigator (desktop or mobile) to access documents in ProjectWise.
  • ProjectWise delivers the same level of basic integration for AutoCAD and all supported AutoCAD-based AutoCAD vertical applications. Except for AutoCAD Civil 3D, ProjectWise does not provide integration for the additional tools and commands unique to each vertical application.
  • For AutoCAD Civil 3D, ProjectWise delivers both basic AutoCAD integration and Civil 3D advanced integration.
  • ProjectWise delivers both basic and advanced integration for Revit 2016 and later.

Bentley i-model Composition Server Administrator Requirements

Bentley i-model Composition Server Administrator is an option of both the Bentley i-model Composition Server for PDF and ProjectWise Administrator installers. These are the requirements for installing Bentley i-model Composition Server Administrator on its own computer (without Bentley i-model Composition Server for PDF).

  • 1 GHz x64 processor or better
  • 4 GB of RAM minimum recommended
  • 75 MB of free hard disk space for installation
  • 64-bit Windows server or client operating system:
    • Windows Server 2019, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows Server 2016, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows Server 2012 R2, Standard and Datacenter Editions
    • Windows 10
    • Windows 8.1
  • Windows networking configured for the TCP/IP protocol (IPv4 or IPv6)
  • Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ)
  • ProjectWise Explorer

ProjectWise Plug-in for Bentley Web Services Gateway (WSG) Requirements

Note: The ProjectWise Plug-in for WSG CONNECT Edition Update 3.4 (10.00.03.434) is a separate download, available at: https://softwaredownloads.bentley.com/en/ProductDetails/2693
Note: Normally, the version of the plug-in must match the version of ProjectWise Explorer. For example, ProjectWise Plug-in for WSG CONNECT Edition Update 3.3 requires ProjectWise Explorer CONNECT Edition Update 3.3. However, ProjectWise Plug-in for WSG CONNECT Edition Update 3.4 requires ProjectWise Explorer CONNECT Edition Update 3.3 (10.00.03.336) and does not work with or support ProjectWise Explorer CONNECT Edition Update 3.4.

Which MicroStation Engine Can I Use?

Various ProjectWise features require MicroStation to be installed, so that the feature can use the underlying MicroStation engine. The following is a breakdown of those features, and which versions of MicroStation (or MicroStation-based application) can satisfy the requirement.

Internet Protocol Support (IPv4 or IPv6)

ProjectWise supports the use of either Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) or Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).

To run ProjectWise on IPv6:

  • You must have a fully-configured IPv6 DNS server.
  • All ProjectWise clients and servers must be part of the IPv6 network.
  • All ProjectWise clients and servers must be configured to use IPv6, by enabling the new IPv6 settings on the ProjectWise Network Configuration Settings dialog.
  • All ProjectWise servers must be configured to use IPv6, by enabling the IPv6 settings in the DMSKRNL.CFG file.
Note: It is highly recommended that you contact Bentley Professional Services to assist you if you plan on setting up ProjectWise on IPv6.
