ProjectWise Project Insights Help

Using the Dashboard Tabs

ProjectWise Project Insights uses visual reports to display information about your documents, tasks, and deliverables packages on the various dashboard tabs.

The dashboard has tabs for ProjectWise Design Integration data, imported data from your external planning and scheduling system, and ProjectWise Deliverables Management data.

Depending on how your administrator configures the dashboard, you might see all of the tabs, or just some of the tabs (the administrator can hide, rename, and rearrange tabs as needed). For example, if you are only using ProjectWise Project Insights to display ProjectWise Deliverables Management data, your administrator might choose to hide all other tabs.

  • ProjectWise Design Integration data:

By default, document data from your ProjectWise Design Integration work area is displayed on the first several tabs.

Note: If the Overview tab displays a configuration map (and the rest of the ProjectWise tabs are disabled) it means that configuration of ProjectWise data is not complete. See Configuration Maps for details.
  • External Planning and Scheduling data:
By default, data imported into ProjectWise from your external planning and scheduling system is displayed on the middle set of tabs.
Note: If there is no information on these tabs, it means that no planning and scheduling data has been imported to ProjectWise.
  • ProjectWise Deliverables Management tabs:

By default, deliverables package data from ProjectWise Deliverables Management is displayed on the last set of tabs.

Note: If the Incoming deliverables tab displays a configuration map (and the rest of the Deliverables Management tabs are disabled) it means that configuration of Deliverables Management data is not complete. See Configuration Maps for details.

How Documents Are Grouped and Counted on ProjectWise Tabs

On the ProjectWise Design Integration tabs, ProjectWise Project Insights uses a combination of dimensions and workflow states to group and count documents in the various reports.

Each dimension is based on a specific ProjectWise environment attribute (or attributes), and your administrator will decide which attribute should be assigned to which dimension.

Each ProjectWise Design Integration tab focuses on a particular dimension. For example, when you go to the Location tab, you would expect to see how many documents in the work area belong to a specific location (assuming that your documents have an environment attribute dedicated to specifying the location of the document, and that your administrator has assigned that attribute to the Location dimension). You can also use the dimension filters on the upper right side of each tab to narrow the scope of information that is displayed on that tab.

Note: If there is no workflow assigned to your work area, there will be no workflow state data to display in ProjectWise Project Insights, and the value of the State Name attribute will display in the reports as <Empty Value>. Likewise, if there is no attribute assigned to a particular dimension, there will be no attribute data to display for that dimension in ProjectWise Project Insights, and the value of that dimension will display in the reports as <Empty Value>.
