To Draw a Spatial Location

  1. Select a document.
  2. Select Document > Properties.

    The Document Properties dialog opens.

  3. Select the Spatial tab.
  4. In the Spatial Location section, set Source to Custom.
  5. Click Edit.

    The Edit dialog opens.

  6. In the Editing toolbar, select the Edit Polygon Geometry tool.

    When you move the pointer in the view window over the background map, the pointer changes from an arrow to a crosshair.

    Note: You can also use the Edit Rectangle Geometry, Edit Rotated Rectangle Geometry, Edit Point Geometry, or Edit Line Geometry tools.
  7. Click in the view window to start the polygon, then click again to define the next vertex, and so on until the polygon is complete.
  8. Reset (right-mouse click) to stop.
  9. Click OK to close the Edit dialog.

    The newly drawn polygon now displays over the background map in the Geometry View window of the Properties dialog.

  10. Click Save, then Close.
