To Assign a Configuration Settings Block to a Folder or Project

  1. Select a folder and select Folder > Properties to open its Properties dialog.
  2. Select the Workspace tab.
  3. Set Workspace Type to Managed.

The Level associations list displays the following workspace levels: Global, Application, Customer, Site, Project, Discipline, User. Any configuration settings blocks that are currently assigned to this folder display in the list under their respective workspace level. When Level associations is set to Object, the list only displays the configuration settings blocks that are explicitly assigned to this folder. When Level associations is set to Object & Inherited, the list displays all configuration settings blocks assigned to this folder — those explicitly assigned, and also those inherited from some parent folder above it. The text “(inherited from the folder 'foldername')” appears after the name of any configuration settings block that is inherited from some parent folder above it.

  4. To assign a configuration settings block to this folder, double-click on the workspace level name, or right-click the name and select Add Association.
  5. Do one of the following:

    or

  6. Click OK on the Folder Properties dialog.

Once assigned, the configuration settings block is also assigned to any documents in the folder, as well as any subfolders.
