Icons in the Datasource List

The following is a list and description of the default icons that appear in the datasource list. You can keep the default the datasource list icons as they are, or you can customize them if needed.

Note: The plus ("+") symbol preceding an icon indicates that the item can be expanded to display subitems. The minus ("-") symbol preceding an icon indicates that the folder can be collapsed. Click the "+" or "-" symbol to expand or collapse the item.
Icon Description
ProjectWise Explorer Datasources - This is the topmost item in the datasource list in ProjectWise Explorer, under which all your datasources can be found.
Closed datasource - A datasource you are not logged in to, whose server is not configured to use a secure connection.
Secure datasource - A datasource you are not logged in to, whose server is configured to use a secure connection.
Database version mismatch - A datasource that cannot be logged in to, because the version of the ProjectWise server does not match the version of the ProjectWise database.
Active datasource - A datasource you are logged into and working in.
Open datasource - A datasource you are logged into but not currently working in.
Folder - This can be a regular folder, or the Documents root folder, which is the topmost folder of any datasource, under which all other folders and work areas are created.
Work area - A special type of folder called a work area.
Work area associated to a ProjectWise project.
Saved Searches folder - There is the general Saved Searches for the datasource, and also a Saved Searches folder under each work area.
Either the Global or Personal folder under the Saved Searches folder, or a saved search within one of those folders. The Global folder is for saved searches an administrator has created and made available to all users. The Personal folder is for searches you have saved.

Custom Folders

Your administrator controls whether or not Custom Folders can be displayed in your datasource. The following are the default icons for Custom Folders.

Icon Description
Custom Folders (Global Folders, Personal Folders, and Folders of Other Users)
Displays next to each user under the Folders of Other Users custom folder

Message Folders

Your administrator controls whether or not message folders can be displayed in your datasource. The following are the default icons for message folders.

Icon Description
The main message folders icon, which is labeled with your user name.
The Global Folders icon, under your main message folder.
Your message folder's Inbox.
Your message folder's Sent Items folder.
