Searching for Documents by Text
If your datasource is configured for full text indexing and searching, you can search for documents based on full text strings inside the files attached to documents, or inside general properties and environment attributes.
The appearance of the Full Text tab in the Search by Form dialog and the Full Text criterion type in the Define Search dialog is determined by the user settings, , and .
Note: Searching for text
inside attributes from the Full Text tab is slightly different than searching
for text inside attributes from the Attributes tab. For one thing, searches
from the Full Text tab only search the full text index, whereas searches from
the Attributes tab search the database. Also, Full Text searches that look
inside ProjectWise
attributes will look inside all ProjectWise attributes, whereas searches from the Attributes
tab will only search the specific attribute in which you enter your search
term. There may be a difference in expected results if the changes to ProjectWise attributes have not yet been indexed.
