Setting Security in the Access Control Tab
The Access Control tab in the Preview Pane makes it easy to set security in ProjectWise Explorer, and is a quick way to see the current security settings of the selected item.
You can also use the Access Control tab to:
- copy the security settings of the selected folder or work area to any target folder or work area
- copy the security settings of the selected document to any target document
- export the security settings of the current folder or work area structure to an Excel file, to be imported to another folder or work area structure.
Note: If you navigate away
from the selected folder or
work area or document after making some changes and
before you save them, ProjectWise will always prompt you to save your security
settings changes. If this happens, click Yes to save them, click No to discard
them (your changes will be lost), or click Cancel to go back to the item
without saving or discarding your changes.
Note: When you select a
work area, the Access Control tab does not have a
single participants list, the way the
Work Area Properties dialog has on its Participants
tab. However, any user, group, or access list that appears in the Access
Control tab, whether the Security Type is set to Folder or Workflow, is a
participant of that
work area. Also, any user, group, or access list
that you add to a
work area using the Access Control tab will be
displayed as having the
Custom role, when you view the participants list
from the Participants tab on the
Work Area Properties dialog.
