Sending ProjectWise Messages with Document Links Attached

You can send messages, with or without documents attached, to other ProjectWise users using ProjectWise Messenger. This is a quick and easy way to send links to documents to other users without having to leave the ProjectWise working environment. When you receive messages with document link attachments, you can double-click the link attachments to open the document (which also checks out the document if you have appropriate rights and permissions on the document), or you can right-click the attachments to work on them as you normally would from a ProjectWise folder.

  1. Select a document and select Document > Send To > Messenger. An untitled, unaddressed ProjectWise Messenger message opens with a link to the selected document attached.

    or

Open ProjectWise Messenger (Tools > Messenger), click the New Message button, then click the Insert Document button on the message itself to attach links to one or more documents.

  2. Click the To button.

    The Select Users dialog opens.

  3. Select the user(s), group(s), or user list(s) that you want to send the message to, then click the To -> button.

With the dialog still open, select more user(s), group(s), or user list(s) and click Cc -> or Bcc -> if you want to send a carbon copy (Cc) or blind carbon copy (Bcc) of the message to others.

  4. When finished selecting recipients, click OK to close the Select Users dialog and return to the message.

Back in the message, the selected users appear in the To, Cc and Bcc fields.

  5. In the Subject field, type the subject of the message.
  6. In the message field, type your message.
  7. When finished, click Send.
