Sending Transmittals
You can issue (send) transmittal packages containing ProjectWise documents for informational or review purposes.
Each transmittal package:
- describes the documents being sent, as well as the sender and the recipients
- explains why the documents are being sent
- specifies what is expected of the recipients in the way of acknowledgement or response
Any internal project participant who has the Issue package permission can create and issue transmittals from this project. Internal project participants who do not have this permission can still create draft transmittals, they just cannot issue them. Instead, those participants can send their draft transmittals for review to a participant who does have the Issue package permission.
Saving the transmittal before you issue it saves a draft of the transmittal to the Drafts folder. After issuing a transmittal, it is moved to the folder where you can view progress / responses.
Upon issuing the transmittal, an email notification is sent to each recipient, informing them that a package has been sent to them. The recipient can then click one of the links provided in the email to retrieve the item either from the ProjectWise Deliverables Management portal, or from ProjectWise Explorer if they also have the ProjectWise Deliverables Management connector for ProjectWise Explorer installed.
