To Issue an RFI

When you are satisfied that your draft has enough information, you can issue it.

  1. Either create a new or open an existing RFI draft.
  2. When you are ready to send the RFI to the selected recipients, click the Issue button at the bottom of the draft.

The Confirm RFI issue dialog opens.

If the issuer is the reviewer of this RFI draft, this dialog contains the option, Notify me about new responses, which lets the issuer choose whether or not they want to receive response notifications for this RFI. This option is on by default.

If the issuer is the author of this RFI draft, the dialog will not contain this option, because the author will always receive response notifications for this RFI, even if the author is not the issuer.

  3. If you are the RFI draft reviewer and you want to receive response notifications about this RFI, leave the Notify me about new responses option turned on.
  4. Click Confirm.

Each user on the recipients list is sent a notification email informing them that they have received an RFI.

Once you issue an RFI, you cannot modify its contents in any way. If you need to change something critical about an RFI after it has been issued, you can recall the RFI, and then prepare a new one with the exact items you need.
