To Unlock a Response (ProjectWise Explorer)

When a recipient sends a response for a document in a transmittal, that response is locked, so that the recipient cannot edit their response after they send it. If the recipient needs to change their response, they need to contact the sender of the transmittal and ask them to unlock the response so that the recipient can edit their original response and resend it.

  1. Expand the Deliverables Management node under your associated work area.
  2. Expand the Outgoing folder and select the Transmittals folder.
  3. Open the transmittal containing the response you want to unlock and select the Responses tab.
  4. From the Recipient list, select the recipient whose response you want to unlock.
  5. Select the document in the list containing the response you want to unlock.
  6. On the Response tab, click the unlock link.
  7. When prompted, click Confirm.

    The recipient's response status for this document is reset to Response pending, and the recipient can now send a new response for this document.

    From the sender's perspective, it appears as if the recipient's comments and attachments are deleted. However from the recipient's perspective, they can still see their original comments and attachments, and now that they are unlocked they can choose which parts to keep and which parts they want to change in the new response.

  8. Inform the recipient that their response was unlocked, and they can now make changes and re-send their response.
