General

  1. Upgrading generally requires upgrading both server and client applications, except in releases that are "client only" or "server only".
  2. Depending on the version you are upgrading from, you may still be able to use your older client with the new server, or your new client with an older server.

    Important: The version of ProjectWise Administrator that you use normally needs to be the same version as the ProjectWise Design Integration Server, but in this case only, you CAN use ProjectWise Administrator from CONNECT Edition Update 3.3 or 3.4 with ProjectWise Design Integration Server from CONNECT Edition Update 3.2 (R2/10.00.03.271 or later), as long as they are installed on separate computers.
  3. Typically, all ProjectWise servers in a ProjectWise system must be of the same release version, and should be upgraded at the same time, with the following exceptions:
    • You may temporarily use your existing ProjectWise Caching Server(s) from one of the versions listed above against the new ProjectWise Design Integration Server, until such time that a ProjectWise Caching Server upgrade can be performed.
    • ProjectWise Web Server is no longer delivered. If you need this feature, use the ProjectWise Web or ProjectWise Web View cloud services instead. Also, your existing deployments of ProjectWise Web Server from V8i (SELECTseries 4) are still supported with this release (at the time of this writing).
  4. All ProjectWise applications on a single computer must be of the same release version. For example, you cannot have applications from both ProjectWise CONNECT Edition Update 3.4 and Update 3.2 installed on the same computer.
