Folder Permissions

The following folder permissions can be given to a user for a particular folder, to specify what they may do to that folder.

Permission

Effect

Letter shown in audit trail comments, if permission is on

Full control

Sets all other permissions except No access, giving the user total access to the folder, with all editing facilities.

F

Change permissions

If on, the user can change their own or other users' permissions on this tab.

P

Create subfolders

If on, the user can create subfolders under the selected folder.

C

Delete

If on, the user can delete the selected folder.

D

Read

If on, the user can see the folder and view its properties. A user can have Read access without Write access.

r

Write

If on, the user can modify the folder properties. Setting Write access automatically sets Read access.

w

No access

If on, the user will not be able to see or have any access to the folder.

Setting on No Access clears all other permissions, thereby taking priority over all others.
