User List Properties dialog

Used to control which users, groups, and/or other user lists belong to the selected user list, and which other user lists the selected user list is a member of.

General tab

Sets the name and type of the user list.

  • Name — Sets the name of the user list.

  • Description — Sets a description for the user list.

  • Type — This user list is used in access control — If on, the list created is an access list. Access lists are used when you want to group together users, groups and other user lists who need the same access rights to folders, documents, and so on.

  • Type — This user list is a mailing list — If on, the list created is a mailing list. Mailing lists are used when you want to group together users with email addresses, so they can send and receive messages using Messaging Services in ProjectWise Explorer.

Members tab

Displays the users, groups, or other user lists that belong to this user list.

  • Add — Opens the Select Security Objects dialog, which is used to add users, groups, or access lists to the user list. To add members, from the Select Security Objects dialog, select one or more items and click OK.

  • Remove — Used to remove the selected member from the user list.

Member Of tab

Displays the other user lists that the selected user list is a member of.

  • Add — Opens the Select Access Lists dialog, which is used to select the user list to which to add this user list as a member.

  • Remove — Used to remove this user list from being a member of the selected user list.

Owners tab

Displays the users who are owners of this user list. A user does not need to be a member of the user list in order to be an owner of it, and a user list can have multiple owners. The purpose of the Owners tab is to assign users ownership of a user list from ProjectWise Administrator, so that they can then manage that user list's membership and ownership from ProjectWise Explorer.

  • Add — Used to add owners to the user list.

  • Remove — Used to remove the selected user(s) from being owner(s) of the user list.
