When a user creates a work area in ProjectWise Explorer, the user has the option to specify what type of work area it is, by assigning a work area type to it. Work area types are created and defined in ProjectWise Administrator under the Work Area Types datasource node. If the datasource was created using the delivered example template, then a list of several example work area types displays when you select this node.

Right-click the Work Area Types datasource node and select:

• New > Work Area Type — to create a new work area type.
• Properties — to apply granular security to this datasource node, and to view the audit trail report for this datasource node.
