Licensing

Starting with ProjectWise CONNECT Edition Update 3.4, licensing for ProjectWise Explorer and ProjectWise Administrator is now managed by the Subscription Entitlement Service, Bentley's new licensing service. After product installation, users sign in to Bentley with their IMS accounts through the CONNECTION Client and begin using the product. The CONNECTION Client then reports product activation and usage to Subscription Entitlement Service.

Licensing for existing ProjectWise CONNECT Edition Update 3.2 and earlier servers continues to be managed by SELECTserver for now, but is planned to move to the Subscription Entitlement Service for ProjectWise CONNECT Edition Update 4.0.

ProjectWise Explorer and ProjectWise Administrator will automatically and always use client-side licensing, even if the user's user settings are configured to use server-side licensing.
