To update your database
In the User Part Center
Navigation dialog,
menu.
The program searches for DGN files, which don’t exist any more in the user part directory, and removes them from the database. Additionally, the new DGN files and sub-directories are added into the database.
When you update an existing database, User Part Center Settings determine how standard fields are handled:
- Don't replace standard fields – No entries in the standard fields are modified. New drawings are not evaluated.
- Always replace standard fields – All drawings are searched for standard data. Any possible modifications to standard fields are lost.
- Only replace blank standard fields – Newly added drawings are examined, because their standard fields are still blank. Standard fields set up for existing drawings are not changed.
Note: When you delete
standard fields from the database, they are not restored during a database
update. The application assumes the deleted standard fields are not longer
required. When you update the database, each affected DGN is opened in to
determine the model data. This process may require some time until it is
finished.
