ProStructures Snaps

Used to easily and accurately snap to desired cardinal/justification points without the need to zoom in.

ProStructures snap points are the based on the nine justification points by which a shape is inserted: four corners, four middle edges, and center. Additionally, a tenth snap is available at the center of gravity (which may coincide with another point for single- or double-symmetric shapes). These insertion points may be selected at the shape cross section at the start, middle, or end of an object (while honoring the Keypoint Snap Divisor). This snapping method works on linear steel shapes and concrete beams & columns; all other shapes work with generic snaps.

Tip: ProStructures works concurrently with tentative snaps.
You can use the following keyboard commands to select the desired insertion point:
Key Snap Effect
Arrow Keys Navigate linearly between adjacent snap points one through nine (cardinal points)
<Page Up>/ <Page Down> Cycle between the points sequentially.
<Home> Select point five.
<End> Select point ten (center of gravity)
Note: ProStructures snaps with linear steel shapes and concrete beams/columns and ignores all end modifications.

If you prefer to use the legacy ProStructures snaps (centerline at start, middle, or end of a shape) or only plain snaps, you can control these settings in the ProStructures Options dialog Snaps tab.
