Truss Connector
Used to automatically create
single, double, and triple brace connections for substation rectangular and
triangular trusses. Truss Connector is a template driven generator which
assigns corresponding templates by truss zone and bracing types.
A mix of any number of rectangular and triangular trusses can be selected for use with the tool.
Accessed from:Note: Gaps for connection plate
thickness should exist in the truss prior to starting this tool.
Otherwise, connections will not be created.
Tip: To skip the
creation of any specific connection, simply delete the template name from
corresponding field.
Note: Whenever
the tool encounters pipe trusses, boolean operations are performed and all
connection templates are ignored. If a gap value is provided, an empty space is
added to the boolean.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Top/Bottom Face(s) | Used to select the template the tool should use to for each bracing type (single, double, and triple) in the top/bottom of the truss. |
Front/Rear Face(s) | Used to select the template the tool should use to for each bracing type (single, double, and triple) in the front/rear of the truss. |
End Brace | Used to select the template the tool should use to for each bracing type (single, double, and triple) in the end of the truss. |
Gap of Pipe Brace | Sets a gap between pipe braces, when all pipe shape connections are encountered. |
Processing Truss | Displays the connections progress. Lists the total number of connections. Boxes next to the templates are color coded as they are completed. Green indicates complete. Grey indicates processing. |
