Types of Windows
There are three commonly encountered window types: dialogs, prompts, and advisories.
Dialogs
The title bar of a dialog displays its title. Dialogs are called up in response to the selection of menu commands containing an ellipsis (…). Dialogs are used when a simple cascading menu does not suffice. Dialogs may contain one or more scroll lists, selection fields, selection buttons, check boxes and radio buttons.
- Clicking the Apply button will make the changes and leave the dialog open.
- Clicking the OK button will make the changes and close the dialog.
- Clicking the Cancel button will close the dialog without making any changes.
Prompts
Prompts are dialogs that appear automatically during the course of operating the PlantWise. System prompts appear to inform you of the progression of system functions and to request you to control the progress by selecting options. User prompts are created by PlantWise functions in the design rules to either request information or to inform you of the progression of the design task. Some prompts require your inputs, others appear for information only and request only a confirmation. Specific prompts are described in the description of the operations during which they may appear.
