SettingDescription
Drawing menu
  • Create a New Template (this will empty the PlantDrafter Template Editor).
  • Save the current template (Save Template).
  • Delete the current template (Delete Template).
  • Close the PlantDrafter Template Editor (Close Template).
Name The Name drop down list is where you select a template to open or edit. You can type in a new template name and build the new template from the settings of the previous template. This way, you do not have to make the same settings for every new drawing template.
Dialog tabs The main body of the dialog is where you set drawing attributes such as symbol locations, pipeline labels, and so on. There are six attribute types designated with its own tab. The contents of each tab are discussed independently later in this chapter. (See Drawing Properties, Symbols, Drawing Title Text, Reports, Drawing Levels, and Pipeline Tags.)
Drawing/Template Actions The Drawing Actions command buttons are used to open, save, or close a drawing (Open when there is not a drawing open; Save As and Close when a drawing is open). The Template Actions command buttons are used to Save the template or Close the Template Editor.
Note: When a drawing is open, every aspect of PlantWise is locked except the Save As and Close buttons of the PlantDrafter Template Editor. Only after a drawing has been closed will PlantWise transactions be unlocked.
When making changes to a template, changed attributes will be written in until the template has been saved and re-opened.
