PlantWise allows files that are part of a ProjectWise repository to be checked out on demand. This feature allows you to work on a project or model while checking out the minimum number of files required. When you choose an operation that requires file write access (e.g. selecting a menu command that modifies a file), PlantWise checks whether the file is part of a ProjectWise repository and if it is checked in. If the file is checked in, a dialog opens with the options shown in the following:

These options offer a variety of check in/check out combinations to perform on the locked file. Depending on which option is chosen, PlantWise attempts to checkout, checkin or overwrite the specified file. A dialog will also pop up requesting your permission to overwrite a file that is not part of a ProjectWise repository but still has the read-only attribute set.
