To View P&IDs with the 2D View

With the 2D View, you can view P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and select objects to analyze their data.

Navigate P&IDs with Zoom and Pan with on screen or mouse controls, access saved Views of P&IDs, or use the Bird view to show region you are viewing in the complete diagram. The 2D View also offers basic view operations like printing, or enabling and disabling grid and ruler displays.

Follow these steps to view P&IDs in the 2D view.

To open a P&ID:
1. Select an object from Plant Structure.
2. Click 2D View.
3. Click Views.
4. Select a P&ID to view.
The P&ID appears in the 2D View.
Click Settings.
The Viewer Settings dialog opens.
To Zoom in and out:

Zoom in or out using your mouse.

Click or .
Zooms in/out in 10% increments.

or
Type a percentage directly into the Zoom value field.
To move the view:

Click Pan.
The pointer changes shape to a pan pointer.
Click in the 2D View, and drag the mouse around to pan the view.
Tip: The pan control remains active until you click another View Settings tool.

Click to activate the Bird view.
The extents of the current view zoom percentage are highlighted blue in the Bird view. The pointer changes shape to a pan pointer.
Click in the Bird view, and drag the mouse around to move the view extents to another location in the P&ID.
Click to toggle the Ruler switch between on (blue) and off (white) positions.
When on, a ruler is displayed on the top and left side of the view.
Click to toggle the Grid switch between on (blue) and off (white) positions.
When on, the grid is displayed.
(Optional) Select Print to print the P&ID.
Your browser's print setup page opens where you can continue with the printing action.
