Program Limitations

While OpenTunnel Designer supports several capabilities, please be aware of the following limitations in the current version.

• Dedicated tools have been implemented for modeling tunnel intersections/trimming . When these tools are not providing the expected output, one can use the MicroStation solid modeling tools to modify the solids and create the intersections. These modifications of the solids need to be done in the last stage of design when no other changes are expected to be made for the tunnel solid. If a change will be made, after the solids have been modified, the tunnel solid will update to accommodate the latest changes, thus, the manual changes will be erased and the user will need to redo them.
• In version 2026, there is no capability of sending the steel arches elements to PLAXIS.
• Side-by-Side Installation is currently planned for every release of OpenTunnel Designer, since the schema changes in each release are quite significant.
