Equal Spaced Points
Used to insert a specified number
of points, points at a defined interval, or a combination of both.
You can access this tool from the following:
- Ribbon: Geometry > Horizontal > Point split button
The Equal Space Points tool inserts a specified number of points, points at a defined interval, or a combination of both. The points can be placed between two points or along an element and optional offset.
The tool places cells or text based on a feature definition or MicroStation points (zero length line) in the active MicroStation symbology if no feature definition is used.
The point can be placed in 2-D (X,Y) or 3-D (X,Y, elevation) in both 2D and 3D model views.

The points are placed along the element (or an optional offset), therefore a MicroStation or civil horizontal element is needed.

Spacing |
Number of Points - specify the number of points which are placed equidistant apart. Interval - points are placed at the specified value. Even - points are placed at even stationing. Max Interval- Equal spaced points where the distance between points does not exceed the maximum spacing defined. If the maximum spacing is exceeded, then it would equally divide the segment rather than have two points close together on the segment at the beginning or end. . |

Offset |
Optionally, points are placed at an offset, i.e., the element is copied parallel at the distance (positive to the right, negative to the left) and that's where the points are placed. |
Equal Space Points Manipulators
Graphic Manipulators are allowed in 2D and 3D. Rotation Manipulators will show the difference between Absolute and Relative rotation. This difference will be shown in the 2D and 3D models and be editable in either model. The Absolute and Relative rotation 2D & 3D examples are shown in the images below.

An origin point manipulator is available in 3D model when an elevation is defined. This manipulator can be used to manipulate the points XYZ location while keeping the Horizontal (Station/Offset), Elevation and Rotation Constraints like Station-Offset constraint to plan element, Elevation Constraint to ground, mesh, profile or value elevation and Plan element Rotation Constraint. Constraint Values can also be edited in the Properties dialog.
