Copy Reference By Folding

Copies the selected reference, then attaches a view of the reference by folding it about an orthogonal axis or a line defined. A folded view is automatically aligned with the view from which it was copied.

You can access this tool from the following:



  • Ribbon: Drawing > Attach > Reference > More split button
  • Toolbox: Reference

Also used to copy and fold a reference about a horizontal/vertical line and to copy and fold a reference about a specified line.



Setting Description
Method Defines the axis that the view is folded about.
  • About Horizontal Line — Folds the view about a horizontal line.
  • About Vertical Line — Folds the view about a vertical line.
  • About Specified Line — Folds the view about a line that you define with two points. Before you accept the line with another data point, you can translate the view perpendicular to the line.
Projection Defines the standard angle used for the projection.
  • First Angle — First Angle projection is used when creating the folded copy.
  • Third Angle — Third Angle projection is used when creating the folded copy.
Use Reference Dialog List

If on, the models selected on the References dialog are copied. (Not available) All options regarding references are controlled through the Model tab of the Project Explorer dialog.

Use Fence If on, the fence contents are copied. The option menu sets the Fence (Selection) Mode.
