Dgn is a file format used by Bentley for creating design files by using various schemas and the schemas are product dependent.
DGN Model
DGN model: Dgn file contains at least one model and can contain many more models. A model is a separate graphical space in design file. A model can either be 2D or 3D and consists of one or more elements. In a model, graphic and non-graphic elements are created and manipulated. Graphic elements can include lines, arcs, circles, shapes and more.
Geometric Model
Geometric model is available for all the civil products such as Open Site/Roads/Rail/Rail Overhead Line Designer, which is container for the graphic elements like Alignments, Corridors, Superelevation, CivilCells, Terrain Surfaces etc and non-graphic elements like Feature Definitions.
