Open Multiple Profile
Creating or opening (if
it's already created) the Multiple Profile Model is done with this command.
Key-in: Geometry Multiple profile Open View
Ribbon: OpenRoads Modeling > Geometry > Vertical > Open Multiple Profile
Selected geometry (which the Multiple Profile Model is based on) is the Primary vertical geometry.
Workflow
- Start the command
- Select a geometry in the Plan Model, the selected geometry will be the Primary vertical geometry
- Select a View to display the Multiple Profile Model
- The User Interface for the command will display
- If the geometries are
stored in an active file, those will be automatically displayed in the Profiles
control. Referenced geometries are not shown automatically, to add those, click
the button and select them one by one. Added geometries will be inserted into
the Profiles control.
Figure 2. Open Multiple Profile Dialog
The Combo box in the upper left corner displays the name of the Primary geometry that the UI handles and the number within the bracket is the View Number displaying the Multiple Profile Model (for example, "UP MAIN(4)").
- Expand the tree nodes
(displaying the Horizontal geometry name) in the Profiles control, this will
display vertical geometries.
- Check or uncheck the toggle button next to the vertical geometry to turn on/off the display of the vertical geometry in the Multiple Profile Model
- Select a vertical geometry
in the Profiles control, this will display two more fields on the right-hand
side in the UI, Stationing and Overrides
- The whole vertical geometry will be displayed by default. Uncheck Start- and/or End Station and key in a Station to limit the display of the vertical geometry
- Check the Override
Symbology toggle in the Overrides area, this will display four symbology
controls: Level, Color, Line Style, and Weight
- Set an override by
those controls to display the vertical geometry with a desired symbology.
Note: This will only affect the graphical profile elements in the Multi Profile model (will not update or change anything in the Feature Symbology).
- Set an override by
those controls to display the vertical geometry with a desired symbology.
- (Optional) The lower
left-hand corner of the UI contains the Display Options control.
- Check the toggle Display Zones to display those objects.
- (Optional) click the Tracking and Analysis button to open the Tracking and Analysis dialog box.
Add Profile
Profiles stored in active dgn-file will automatically be added to the Multiple Profile model. Profiles in referenced models will not be added automatically unless the Profile is selected as the Primary profile.
Profiles in referenced models can be added by running the Add Profile command in all dialog boxes and as a view-icon on the view displaying a Multiple Profile Model.
Display Profile Geometries
Display or hide (hide is deleting the graphical profile elements) the profiles by checking or un-checking the toggle next to the vertical name in the Profiles control.
If the horizontal geometry only has one vertical geometry, the Active Profile and the next profile in the list are the same.
Station Limit
By un-checking the Start- and/or End Station control in the Stationing field, the display of the vertical range can be defined by key-in a station value. Note! There are no dynamics applying the station values, those need to be manually entered.
Change Primary
The Multiple Profile Model is based on the primary geometry, changing the primary geometry will change the model (a different model will be displayed in that view). If changing to a different primary and that model is not already created, a new model will be created based on the selected geometry (which will be the new primary).
Workflow- Using HUD
- Select the vertical geometry, which should be set as the new Primary.
- From the Head-Up Display,
select Set As Primary Profile.
Workflow -Using the Right-Click menu
