Overview
The Elevation Assignment Tool is a powerful feature designed to aid engineers and surveyors in editing 2D or 3D contours. It allows users to batch-process a set of contours and assign them to the proper elevation.
Features
Manual Elevation Assignment
- First Element's Elevation: Assign the elevation for the first intersected element.
- Elevation Interval: Set the interval for the next elevation to assign to the following elements.
- Start and End Points: Define the start and end points for the contour set.
- Element Templates: Apply one of two types of element templates to the elements during this process (Optional).
Automatic Elevation Assignment
After using the manual method, users can switch the assignment mode to automatic. This mode takes the elevation of the first intersected element and increments the following intersected elements automatically, eliminating the need for user input for each element. This is best used after at least one use of the Manual mode.
Usage
To use the Elevation Assignment Tool, follow these steps:
- Manually assign the elevation for the first intersected element.
- Set the elevation interval for the next elements.
- Choose an element template to apply to the elements.
- Select the contours you wish to process by defining the start and end points.
- If desired, switch to automatic mode for the next elements.
By using the Elevation Assignment Tool, engineers and surveyors can efficiently manage contour elevations, saving time and improving accuracy in their projects.
