Create Rail Joints

You can access this dialog from the following:

Ribbon: OpenRail Modeling > Light Rail Technical Preview

The Create Rail Joints tool allows you to create joints using a fixed length or a maximum length table. Joints can be displayed as a list for manipulation or interactively in the plan view. Joints can be annotated and reported.

Setting Description
Apply to Rail Specifies which rail line the joints will be placed on.
Min Joint Spacing The minimum spacing between rail joints.
Max Joint Spacing The maximum spacing between rail joints.
Joint Thickness The length of the joint.
Remainder Placing How the remainder of the joints should be placed if the previous parameters specified cannot be met.
Controlling Rail Specifies which rail line is used when determining the length of the rail.
