Edit Reference Line

Edit Reference Lines (bulk)

Manipulates reference lines in bulk.

Slide Back/Forward: Slides back/forward selected reference lines using a distance defined by the user. A positive value means slide forward, and a negative value means slide back.

Extend/Trim Reference Lines: Changes the range of an already placed reference line. Asks user to select leftmost and rightmost alignments. Changing the reference alignment is not possible.

Equal Span Lengths: Evenly distributes the span lengths between selected reference lines.

Decrease/Increase Span Length: Decrease/Increase span length for the selected reference lines using a distance defined by the user. A positive value means increase and a negative value means decrease.

Recalculate Span Lengths: Recalculates span lengths using the design standards and based on the geometry span lengths are on for the selected reference lines.

Edit Reference Lines (with manipulators)

Selected reference line has station manipulator and ahead and back dimension manipulators.

Manipulator at ends of reference lines allow user to extend/reduce reference line - snap to alignments as it is dragged.

Related Standards

Reference lines are placed based on span calculations. Span lengths are determined either using a table or a formula. The standards also define which method to use. Tools read this from the standards and do not ask for this information.

Spacing Table

Can have as many rows as needed. Values are interpolated for different radius values. INF denotes infinite radius, straight geometry.
